Casting Actors for Six Days in Sugarland

We have exciting news about this Limited Series, currently consisting of about eight episodes. We recently received and agreed to an Option offer for the story from a Producer with a solid track record in Hollywood.

What does this mean? It means local efforts to produce the first episode will be paused while the entire series is fully developed and then pitched successfully to a distributor or streaming platform.

Stay tuned. We’ll update you as we go.

Synopsis

“Six Days in Sugarland” is a limited series about Betty, a young woman who is called upon to travel to the small town of Sugarland to retrieve the personal effects of her late mother. While Betty wrongly assumes that this will be a quick overnight trip, she is unwillingly and surprisingly drawn into a mystery in which her true past and her bright future is revealed.

Character Descriptions for Casting Actors for Six Days in Sugarland

Betty Bell

Betty Bell is about 30 and is of mixed African American/White race. Particularly, she is a strong, determined woman who is largely unaware of her family background. Unquestionably, Betty’s life has been a struggle at times, although she is intelligent, strong-willed and can see through BS. Subsequently, over the course of the story arc, Betty learns more and more about her background which causes her to question everything she thought she knew about herself.

Georgie Farmer

Georgie Farmer is a woman about 30 and is on the spectrum. She manifests the behaviors that fall into the Asberger’s syndrome family. Nearly obsessed with figuring out who committed the 1874 unsolved murders of a rich landowner and the landowner’s hired houseman, Georgie displays her ability to know family tree history of many people in town.

Oscar

Oscar is man between 35 and 40. He is tough, rough around the edges, and has a mysterious past that he is reluctant to discuss. While his actions in the story make his character’s mission clear, the initial ambiguity about his motives and the lack of clarity about who he is working for add to the mystery of what’s happening in Sugarland, and why Betty is involved.

Detective Cooper

Detective Beverly Cooper, late 40’s, is an African American woman. Cooper is a police detective working to understand the circumstances that potentially associate Georgie Farmer with the murder of Dave, a minor character, and the events that lead up to Betty’s presence in town.

Detective Burley

Detective John Burley is a man about 50. He is a hard-nosed investigator committed to solving crimes. He is partnered with Detective Cooper.

Pickup Truck Driver

The Pickup Truck Driver is a plaid-shirt, jeans and boots-wearing tough guy who isn’t as tough as he pretends to be.

Archie

Archie is an African American man, about 60 years old, who’s made a successful career managing the stables at a large Equestrian facility. Wise, easy-going and kind.

Al

Al is a bartender at the local watering hole.
