Joe, The Photographer

Joe, the photographer, photographed by Fred Sanfilipo at Williamson-Sodus Airport, Sodus, NY

I am a second-generation photographer, having learned photography basics from my father, who had quite a business as a portrait and wedding photographer in Western New York from the 1950’s into the early 1990’s. I attended RIT as a film/video production major and for about fifteen years after graduating college, worked in video and film production doing everything from writing to lighting, directing and editing. I also built video production facilities as needed, from time to time.

I went sideways in the television broadcast industry, becoming a sales representative for a dealer that sold broadcast production and other television equipment to other creators, television stations, government and fortune 500 companies.

My return to still photography as an avocation began around 2013 when my father handed me his DSLR when he retired from doing portraits. Realizing I missed the art of photography, I began doing the kind of photography I loved doing – portraits.

An opportunity to move to Florida presented itself, and I could not pass it up, and I am now based in Wellington, Florida.

This site features my more general portrait and photography work, including some glamour portraits, but mostly features senior portraits, kids portraits and family portraits. Other work, including glamour and boudoir portraits can be found at my site www.westpalmboudoir.com.

Please enjoy my work, and consider me for portrait work when the need arises. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
